So yesterday I went to a Place, a place filled with Photo Ops, Geeks, and Ridiculously long lines. It Was an event I will never forget, an event called... Nintendo Live 2024 Sydney! So Let Me tell you guys about that thing! So, a couple of months back, Me (And my Mum because why not) entered a ticket raffle to get to this event called "Nintendo Live", it looked and sounded Good, Tons of Photo Ops, Mario Kart and Smash Bros Tournaments, Charles Martinet (Voice actor of Mario), And this was Sort of a once in a lifetime experience. Every single year it's in a different city across the World. The last year, it was in Seattle! So what are the chances that It'd come to my city? So we entered hoping that we would get those tickets, and however long later my Mum forwarded an E-Mail to me saying we had won the ticket Raffle!
Fast-Forward a couple of months to the 31st of August, as we drove to ICC in Darling Harbour and entered. We went to Gate 4 and entered a snake line. a Long snake line, but hey, at least they gave us some cool wristbands, Lanyards, and these Gift Bags that were Packed with cool little things. While Yes, It had what you'd expect from something like this at an Event/Convention Like this, (Such as a Map) But it also had Pins, Multiple Stickers, and a collectible Coin! That is so damn cool! Oh! And I almost forgot to mention, aside from a merch store that is way too complicated. This Entire thing was Free, the Tickets, the Photo Ops, all free! So all this was already going way Beyond our Expectations! So, anyways we actually entered 9:00 AM-ish quite quickly through the long line, and we were in! But no Time for the other photo ops now. We had to be quick to get to the meet and greet with Charles Martinet! So we lined up, and we took a Photo, He was very nice!
Okey Dokey, NOW it's time for the Other Photo Ops! So we tried to take a photo with the Mario and Luigi Mascot Costumes, but The line was WAY to long, and they were just about to go anyways, So we tried Isabelle with the Animal Crossing Backdrop. Same story, so we took a photo behind in the Animal Crossing Themed area behind the Animal Crossing themed area and took a photo with Cardboard Cut-Outs of Timmy and Tommy (I think, I havent encountered them in my game yet) And walked around the place, taking a photo with the Link and Zelda statue. Afterwards; I found some good aisle seats for the Mario Kart Tournament that was starting in just a couple of Minutes, so we watched these guys compete in Mario Kart for an Hour-ish for A Real Mario Kart Trophy and Bragging rights! If you wanna watch it, it's up on Nintendo's Official YouTube Channel I'm not gonna spoil who won but I was rooting for "BLJ", My Mum left and brought back a Catalouge with various "things". She thought the Tournemant was way too fast-Paced and she couldn't keep up, but near the end my mum needed to grab the Recipt. She ended up missing out on the last 3 Tracks! I don't remember what the 1st one she missed was; but the others were, In order: Rainbow Road and of course, Sydney Sprint.
We did a couple more photo ops, Including the Princess Peach and Isabelle mascot costumes, along with a Pokeball statue, a Bunch of Kirby statues, Elephant Mario, and Pikmin, we were almost done with the Photo Ops already! All that was left was the Mario Bros Mascot Costumes, a Kirby Mascot Costume (that was really funny because he was tiny and had to shuffle along, being guided by the employees, and apparently the guy inside was all curled up in a ball) A Pikachu Mascot Costume (That we sadly couldn't do, but while my Mum was waiting for the recipt he was just standing there, menacingly. We count that as one) and a Splatoon statue.But, Then it, was time for the Charles Martinet Q&A so then after that we finally did all the remaining photo ops. At around 4-5:30pm-ish we went back to the stage and watched the Smash Bros. tournament that was also happening, but little did we know, had already started! But thankfully; they didn't get into any of the matches, yet. But oddly enough, it was just The Semi-Finals and Grand Finals . It seems that they streamed the other stuff the day before, but we didn't watch that. but Anyways, after that (around 6:00pm). it was finally to go home.
