I started watching Cartoon Network a long time ago, as I was introduced to "Ben 10" (which is still my favourite show to this day), I then started getting into some of the other shows, and here I am today! Although, I've barely watched anything, compared to how much there is, so don't expect me to know absolutely everything, don't blame me, blame the sub-par DVD releases, even if I do know some really obscure CN stuff (such as the MMO game with an anime art style, taking place during an apocolypse).

But, how did we get here?: So, in the 1990s, this guy named Ted Turner was bored and bought the entire MGM catalog (for some reason), although, due to this, he went extremely broke and gave the rights back to the former owners less than a year after, everything except the cartoons. Not long after, he bought Hanna-Babera, so now he had the rights to these old, iconic shows, (like "Looney Tunes" and "Scooby-doo".) but what should he do with them?

Since Ted had made TV channels in the past (including CNN), he decided to open another one, exclusively for cartoons, called "Cartoon Network" (very original, am I right?).

For more info, please watch this amazing video by AmusingLuis on YouTube. I'm here to show you some shows, mostly as a reccomendation to people who haven't seen them, anyways:

Dexter's Laboratory is about this 8-year-old kid named Dexter who is secretly a boy genius, he spends almost all his time in his secret lab (which he managed to fit in the house), building inventions, experimenting, and overall sciency things, but that possible lifechanging research is often times put to a halt by his older, energetic sister, Dee Dee.

The Powerpuff girls is about three, crime-fighting kindergarteners which were made in an experiment gone right by their father, Professor Utonium, of course, that leads to all of the villains showing up their home city, Townsville for a challenge, but it usually never ends well for them...

Centers around the summer vacation antics of three, tightly-knit friends named, Ed, Edd, and Eddy (duh.), usually wreaking havoc on the neighbourhood with their scams, all to make a quick buck to buy a couple Jawbreakers with.

When the brainless Billy's hampster dies, the Grim Reaper comes to take him away, but Billy's "friend", Mandy challenges the reaper to a game of Limbo, after winning, the reaper is then forced to be friends with the kids for the rest of their life and death.

On summer vacation with his grandpa Max, and his cousin Gwen, 10-year-old Ben Tennyson stumbles across the "Omnitrix", an alien device which can turn him into one of ten aliens, so Ben uses it for good (mostly) and stops whoever wants to destroy the universe and take his wrist with it.

Anyways, definitely check those out, but after the Cartoon Network Studios building shut down and merged with the warner bros. one, as well as the website shutting down, the future isn't looking too bright for the network, so if you want to, try and track down a copy of anything you wanna see from them, try and find it now.
